To help launch Parkingeye’s first-to-market Bay Management solution they needed to find a supplier that would help create the robust, hard-wearing monitoring bollard that they needed.
Parkingeye reached out to MCS, leveraging our skill and experience when it comes to metal fabrication, to bring their vision for Bay Management to life.
The monitoring bollard is designed to sit near a priority parking space and allow that bay to be protected.
This could be adding parking validation to Blue Badge spaces, or parent & child bays. Adding Bay Management to a car park can help reduce instances of space abuse. Parkingeye’s own research revealed that up to 80% of Blue Badge bays are subject to abuse.
With this having such a drastic impact on motorists who need these bays, and Parkingeye’s clients, they knew they needed to find a solution.
Parkingeye wanted to create a bollard, something that could be added to a site to add an additional level of ANPR powered monitoring to specific areas. This had never been done before, so they needed to find a supplier who could support the vision they had for their new solution.
MSC were instrumental in helping Parkingeye to create their Monitoring Bollard.
We were able find a steel solution to ensure that each unit was robust enough to survive in the field.
The equipment within each bollard is sensitive and the cases MCS designed have been incredible at protecting the camera, router and sensors held within. The bollard has also achieved an IP54 rating. This means that it is certified as being dust and waterproof whilst on-site.
